Name: Kenneth Corea UID: kcorea Contents: - Summary - Compiling - Files - Notes ==[ Summary ]======================================================== SYNOPSIS ./myls [-lR] [-@ debugflags] [FILE...] DESCRIPTION List information about the FILEs (the current directory by default). Sort entries alphabetically. OPTIONS Options are scanned using getopt_long(3c), and are subject to its restrictions and conventions. -l use a long listing format -R list subdirectories recursively -@ debugflags turns on debugging flags for the DEBUGF macro. The option -@@ turns on all debug flags OPERANDS Each operand is the path of the directory that is to be listed. If the path is not absolute, then ./FILE is listed. If no operands are specified, then the current directory is listed. EXIT STATUS 0 if OK, 1 if errors detected (e.g., cannot access command-line argument). ==[ Compiling ]====================================================== make all # creates executable myls make clean # removes object files make spotless # removes object files and executable ==[ Files ]========================================================== debugf.c utility for debugging debugf.h debugging utility header file dstack.h utility stack for recursion dstack.c stack utility header file main.c main program Makefile Makefile for this project README this file slist.c utility list for sorting and printing slist.h list sorting and printing header file ==[ Notes ]========================================================== * Formatting for myls without the -l option lists the entries one per line, unlike ls. * Formatting for byte count in long listing is restricted to a five character width. Similarly, hard link count is restricted to two. * Total block count in long listing is described in number of 1024B blocks. * myls errors our if bad options are detected. * If myls detect multiple operands, they are listed in the order they were provided on the command line. They are not sorted alphabetically like ls would do.
