A free, open source Zelda-like survival/adventure game
This repository is up early to satisfy the "Public Git Repository" tier on my Patreon.

I stream Rituals' development regularly at my twitch channel. My stream schedule is currently 2PM PST every day.
Rituals' source is licensed under the MIT license. Feel free to learn as much as you can from it.
- Install Visual Studio (I'm using 2015)
- Change the msvcdir variable in make.bat, if necessary
- Download SDL2's development libraries
- Set LIBRARIES and INCLUDES in make.bat to point to those
- You probably want to delete the line "start python autogit.py" in make.bat too
- Run make.bat
Running on Linux shouldn't be too hard; there are very few windows specific things in the source. I make a few calls to VirtualAlloc and include windows.h. You'll have to remove _CRT_SECURE_NO_WARNINGS too. Other than those, all you should need are the SDL2 and OpenGL development libraries.
The game is currently in something like pre-pre-pre alpha, so don't expect a lot of "game" as such yet.
- Use the WASD keys to move.
- Left click to throw small boxes.
- Right click on an entity to "activate" it; this currently means:
- When you activate a big box, it prints the ID to stdout
- When you activate a thrown box, it deletes it.
- Press F to whack the ground. If a tile breaks, bare earth is revealed underneath.
- Press and hold Space to grab an entity in the direction you are facing.
