This project provides OpenCL (and serial) implementations of the following HDR TMOs: Reinhard Global Reinhard Local Gradient Domain HDR Compression The project also consists of source code for an Android app to apply the above TMOs on camera frames. The app acquires camera frames in form of an OpenGL texture, it then uses OpenCL-OpenGL interop to apply a TMO to the acquired texture. The output is an OpenGL texture which is then rendered to the device's display. The app is not just limited to HDR TMOs, but can be used for any application which requires processing and displaying live camera stream. To demostrate this, an OpenCL implementation of Histogram Equalisation is also provided in this project. Linux: Setting up: The linux implementation is written in C++ and requires the following libraries: OpenCL (1.1) - to run OpenCL implementations OpenGL - for OpenCL-OpenGL interop libjpeg - to read and write jpeg files libSDL_image - to read and write jpeg files Running the code: cd linux ./hdr Android: Setting up: Requires following: Android SDK - to develop the app Android NDK - for JNI Ant libOpenCL for android the shell script setupAndroidEnvironment.sh in the android directory of this project does all of the above Running the app: cd android ./clean.sh (to remove the app from the device) ./install_run.sh Further reading: STRUCTURE goes over the general layout of the project and tries to explain what file fits where NOTES mentions few things which may not be straight forward to understand at first. TODO contains a list of things which need to be worked on.
