SBLIM Service Instrumentation README
------------------------------------

The Service Instrumentation allows to get information about the system
services via CIMOM.
The implemented class Linux_Service is a derivation of CIM_Service. Instances
of this class represent system services started via the /etc/init.d scripts.

NOTE: Currently only the RedHat scheme of /etc/init.d is being supported.
Therefore this code will work only for Linux installations following that 
scheme.

WARNING: Unpredictable results may occur, if run under a different /etc/init.d
scheme. As usual, contributions to fix this situation are welcome.


Prerequisites
------------- 

- CIMOM
  * SFCB (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sblim/)
  or
  * Pegasus version 2.3 or higher (http://www.opengroup.org/pegasus)
    CMPI interface part of Pegasus

- the SBLIM cmpi-base module
  * please use always the latest base version
    (http://sourceforge.net/projects/sblim)
