MetropAccess-Reititin is a tool for measuring accessibility by public transport. Transport schedules used in the MetropAccess-Reititin are based on open timetable data (Kalkati XML) from the Helsinki Regional Transport Agency (HRT). The tool allows the calculations of public transport routes, travel times and distances between different origin and destination locations in the Helsinki Region. The whole travel chain (“door-to-door approach”) is taken into account in the calculations. It is also possible to add new routes into the analysis.
The tool has been developed gradually together with different collaborators. The latest version (version 1.2), was developed together with Busfaster Oy, a private start-up company specialized in public transport analysis.

NB! The program requires the download and installation of Node.js library which is available for download here: Nodejs.org.
Detailed instructions on how to use the tool are available at the moment only in Finnish: MetropAccess-Reititin/MetropAccess-Reititin_KayttoOhje.pdf. Short introduction and overview is presented in this slideshow.
You can update the public transport timetables (the Kalkati-file), by downloading a pre-processed Kalkati-package.
The tool is licensed under the GNU General Public (v3) license, which allows the manipulation and development of the tools (even commercially), as long as the new outputs are licensed under the same terms. Detailed license information are available in the download package of the tool.
