1. Install linux-headers and iptables-dev package.

# uname -a
Linux psyche 2.6.18-4-amd64 #1 SMP Fri May 4 00:37:33 UTC 2007 x86_64 GNU/Linux

# apt-get install linux-headers-2.6.18-4 iptables-dev

# psyche:~# ls -lad /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-4-amd64/
drwxr-xr-x 4 root root 4096 2007-07-22 00:49 /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-4-amd64/

2. First build kernel module.

# cd kernel

# make KERNEL_DIR=/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-4-amd64
# make install
# depmod -Ae

# cd ..

3. Then build iptables helper library.

# cd iptables
# make KERNEL_DIR=/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.18-4-amd64
# make install

4. Have fun.
