ARM port of RTAI
================

The ARM-port of RTAI has now two versions. The old one which is maintained by 
Guennadi and the new one, which is maintained by Thomas. You have to select a
version during configure. Current default is the new version, as it is
tested on more archs.

Arch-support:

sa11x0		stable on 2.4.18/19	stable on 2.4.17/18/19

The installation procedure is more or less "as usual":

For the new version:
- Apply the correct patch from arch/arm/patches directory to your kernel. 
  Consult arch/arm/patches/README to select the correct one.
  Configure your kernel and switch on RTHAL.
- In RTAI do make config, unselect smp, mup, do make dep, then make. 

For the old version:
- Apply the correct patch from patches directory to your kernel. 
  Consult patches/README to select the correct one.
  Configure your kernel and switch on RTHAL.
- In RTAI do make config, unselect smp, mup, do make dep, then make. 

If you've got this far, you can try your new modules. Just make sure you
specify the linux path correctly, and then the ARCH, MACHINE, PROC, CROSS
variables should be set up correctly.
