Eddy_Murphi Release 3.2.3
Finite-state Concurrent System Verifier for multi-core clusters via
message passing and threading.

Responsible for this release: Igor Melatti (melatti@cs.utah.edu)

===========================================================================

This release is based on the CMurphi Release 3.1 and has been modified to
implement a novel algorithm for parallel model checking. Responsible for
the CMurphi Release 3.1 are Giuseppe Della Penna (dellapenna@di.univaq.it)
and Enrico Tronci (tronci@dsi.uniroma1.it).

This version requires the installation of an MPI (Message Passing
Interface) implementation, as well as of the PThread library.

The paper describing this novel algorithm has been submitted to the
Workshop SPIN 2006.

Version 3.1.4 fix some bugs and offer a first support to error trace generation.

1. Modifications to the distribution files

Directories src, doc, ex and include have been modified w.r.t. CMurphi 3.1.
See the README.Eddy_Murphi files in each of these directories for more
information.

2. Modifications to the Murphi Compiler

The following options have been added to the mu compiler:

-p enables the novel parallel algorithm
--dstrb_only	enables an MPI porting of PMurphi, a previous parallel
version for Murphi based on Active Messages and NOW (this
		is an alpha version).

When those options are specified, the related algorithms are enabled
in the generated verifiers. If none of the options are specified,
the compiler generates the same verifiers as CMurphi 3.1

3. Modifications to the Murphi Verifier

See HOWTO.txt, HOWTO.ps or HOWTO.pdf.

The following options have been disabled:

 -d (soon available again)
 -loop
 -s
 -vdfs

The parallel algorithms work only with Breadth First Search, so the DFS and
simulation options are disabled.

3. Compiling the Eddy_Murphi Compiler and Verifier

See HOWTO.txt, HOWTO.ps or HOWTO.pdf.
